KLX Inc Product Line Specialist - Wichita, KS. in Wichita, Kansas

OBJECTIVE:

Under general supervision, supports the global Sales Team in regards of identification of products, pricing of ad hoc and strategic RFQs, basic to medium technical support, applying applicable aircraft OEM manuals and sourcing non-inventory products.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

   Product Knowledge

  • Assimilates knowledge regarding a product line's technical specifications and functions

  • Maintains products' competitive position

  • Supports the development of business plans related to the development of the product and its growth potential

  • Works with vendors on technical and pricing issues

   Analysis

  • Screen aircraft manuals to identify product offering gaps (new products, non-linked specifications etc.)

  • Identification of RFP offering gaps in regards of requested products in sourcing and getting products setup for future requirements from global customer base

  • Support Contracts team in RFP process by analyzing opportunities and completing the product line quotes for strategic RFP's

  • Compare customer sales against potential sales volume based on product and industry knowledge. Identify gaps and initiate an action plan with sales to capture lost, missing or new parts

   Influencing/Support other Functions

  • Back office hotline support via phone and email for product line related questions

  • Interface with Quality in regards to specifications and part number maintenance

  • Interface with Operations in regards to product line specific OTD performance and global positioning of inventory

  • Interface with Supply Chain in the planning, global positioning and procurement requirements of the Product Line

  • Interaction with Suppliers in regards to pricing updates, new products and follow-up on technical questions and special Price Agreements/ Rebate programs

  • Maintaining technical support library

  • Provides training to internal and external customers

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Engineering or Related field of study

  • 2-4 year's of related work experience

  • Sales or supply chain experience, working with specific products to airlines, MROs and/or OEMs (Lighting, chemical, machined parts, tooling, etc.)

  • Ability to work with fundamental math concepts to calculate profits, margin, markups, discounts etc., manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, work at a high speed with a high degree of accuracy, and interact with multiple cultures and backgrounds

  • Excellent English communication (oral and written) skills and ability to interact with all levels- external and internal

  • Intermediate computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak any of the following languages: German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese or Japanese
