Work consists of developing or improving actual products or designs relating to custom hydraulic power units and control systems, along with planning and performing engineering duties for parts of major projects or for projects of moderate complexity.Work includes creation of previously non-existent products or modifications to existing products, selection of materials, and development of bills of materials, drawings and test plans.Work also includes responding to customer requests for desired product changes and design submittals and guiding technicians during fabrication.Project work to be performed will utilize proper application of engineering principles and concepts, drawing conclusions from both formal training and experience, to complete work assignments under general supervision.
Provide cost estimates and system design requirements from customer concepts, specifications and requests for quotation; utilizing catalogs, handbooks, standard engineering practices and verbal/written request.
Create panel layouts, prepare wire run instruction list.
Provide sketches, bills of materials, other information to drafter for preparation of formalized electric lists, schematics and wiring interconnection diagrams for the following purposes: use by fabrication shop during construction, use during the start up and commissioning phases of equipment, and for the inclusion in customer maintenance and service manuals.
Provide process control engineering support to company sales people, assisting during sales calls when requested. Assist drafter and parts procurement coordinator in performance of their duties. Provide electrical controls engineering support and assistance to department personnel. Assist fabricators in trouble shooting of electro/hydraulic systems, offering guidance and recommendations concerning electrical interfacing and corrective actions that may be taken.
Developed PLC control logic programming, for various process control functions dictated by current customer operating requirements and future project concepts.
Provide engineering support and propose estimates for hydraulic power units and systems: as assigned by the Systems Manager.
Participate in the quality improvement process as warranted.
Perform other similar or related duties and assignments.
Advanced knowledge of a discipline such as (either or) business, computer science, engineering, advanced medical technologies, graphic arts, social science, physical science, psychology, etc. Bachelor's degree minimum requirement. Master's degree preffered.
Over 5 years up to and including 7 years.
